Microsoft Has Officially Ended Support For Windows 7

Microsoft’s Windows 7 platform was launched more than a decade ago, and since then, it has been succeeded by the likes of Windows 8 and Windows 10, the latter of which is the latest operating system. As such, it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that Microsoft has officially ended support for Windows 7.

Microsoft has been warning Windows 7 users for a while now that support would be coming to an end, and it looks like that day has come. It’s safe to say that many will no doubt miss Windows 7. It was one of Microsoft’s more popular operating systems where it actually took Windows 10 several years before it managed to surpass Windows 7 in terms of market share.

However, despite it being more than a decade old, data from Netmarketshare has revealed that about 26% of all PCs continue to run the operating system. It’s not surprising that many are hesitant to upgrade to Windows 10. This is because of the bad rep that Windows 8 brought to the Windows platform, so we can’t blame users for being a bit hesitant about upgrading.

That being said, if you have yet to upgrade, you definitely should. This is because with Microsoft no longer officially supporting Windows 7, it means that there will be no more patches and security updates, leaving the platform open to be exploited and attacked.
