Winner, winner? DevOps Excellence Awards 2020 dinner on 18th March

The deadline for entries to Computing’s DevOps Excellence Awards 2020 – the UK’s longest running DevOps awards programme – has been extended to enable even more people and organisations to enter.

Computing’s DevOps Excellence Awards 2020 will be judged by an expert panel of industry peers, with the event held on 18th March as the climax of Computing DevOps Live 2020. Entry is free.

We spent most of the night cheering and hugging one another, and we haven’t really stopped since

There are 21 categories in total, covering DevOps projects, tools and services and, most important of all, the year’s DevOps leaders, teams, rising stars, engineers and heroes – who are your DevOps leaders, teams or stars?

The 2019 DevOps Excellence Awards were held at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square, and were compèred by comedian Tom Lucy. DevOps Leader of the Year was Dr Joost Noppen from BT, while the DevOps Engineer of the Year was Siarhei Rudnitski of Godel Technologies. The Best DevOps Transformation was won by JP Morgan.

Previous winners include cloudThing, winner of the DevOps Company of the Year Awards 2019. “I genuinely couldn’t believe it at first; we were happy to be listed against such talented competition… We spent most of the night cheering and hugging one another, and we haven’t really stopped since coming back to the office,” Gareth Porter, head of DevOps at cloudThing, told Computing.

He continued: “Our entry was really focused on the way we do DevOps from a service perspective, and how we try to ensure a balance of best practice and collaboration.”
